PARIS — The Tranoï trade show has named veteran salon executive Muriel Piaser as the “ambassador” for its new women’s Preview event, to take place at the same time as men’s fashion week, in January and October here.
Piaser left Prêt-à-Porter Paris, where she was salon director, in October 2011 and has since set up her own consultancy specializing in the fashion trade show sector.
“Today, 80 percent of purchasing is done from pre-collections,” Piaser said of the importance of the Preview event, which will debut at the Carrousel du Louvre from Jan. 19-21, 2013.
“That is why it is important to develop secondary lines or creative, contemporary, avant-garde brands that represent the future of oursector,” she added.
The Tranoï Preview event will have a strong focus on accessories, Piaser said.
