The Stratham, N.H.-based footwear, apparel and accessories firm has signed a 10-year lease for a 9,500-square-foot showroom at 100-104 Fifth Avenue. The space features an open floor plan for retailers to view the collection in one cohesive area. Timberland has been located at 25 West 56th Street.
“The showroom will feature environmentally minded elements such as recycled and reclaimed materials, which correspond with Timberland’s commitment to green initiatives,” said Grant Greenspan of Kaufman Organization, which represented the building in the lease negotiations.
Although the terms of the lease weren’t disclosed, the asking rent for the space was $60 per square foot. The building was built in 1905, and Timberland joins tenants such as Apple, Yelp, Interactive Partners and Net-a-porter.
Timberland, which became a division of VF Corp. last year, generated $1.5 billion in revenues in 2011. The company sells its footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and children through its own retail locations, specialty and department stores and athletic specialty stores.
