NEW YORK — Burton “Bud” Lichten, a principal and co-owner of Scarsdale Fabrics Inc., a textile converting company, died Monday at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He was 88.
The cause of death was heart failure, according to his family.
Lichten, along with his longtime friend and partner, Jennie Raphael, founded the business 40 years ago here. It primarily services women’s and children’s apparel manufacturers.
Lichten continued to be active as a consultant up until a year ago, when his illness became a factor.
Lichten is survived by daughter Linda Knolle; sister Barbara Wax; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
