Christy Turlington Burns, the celebrity model-activist, will return to Calvin Klein and be featured in the women’s fall global advertising campaign for Calvin Klein Underwear.
The fall Calvin Klein Underwear advertising campaign was photographed by Mario Sorrenti in Vieques, Puerto Rico. This is Turlington Burns’ first advertising campaign shot by Sorrenti. The campaign is inspired by the brand’s signature and provocative imagery, and highlights an assortment of Calvin Klein Underwear essentials that represent the sleek, sophisticated aesthetic for which the brand is known.

The media campaign will be comprised of a mix of print, digital and outdoor advertising timed to coincide with September magazine issues.
Turlington Burns has a long-standing relationship with the Calvin Klein brand, beginning with her first runway show for Calvin Klein for the fall 1987 season. In 1988, Irving Penn photographed Turlington Burns for her first Calvin Klein Collection ad campaign. That same year, she became the face of Calvin Klein’s scent Eternity. Bruce Weber photographed the fragrance’s launch campaign.
Over the years, Turlington Burns continued to work with other legendary photographers — including Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Peter Lindbergh and Juergen Teller — for several more advertising campaigns for the Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Underwear, Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Swimwear brands, as well as Contradiction fragrance and three additional Eternity fragrance campaigns.
One of the world’s most recognizable models, Turlington Burns has also directed and produced “No Woman, No Cry” — a documentary film about the global state of maternal health. Following the film’s release in 2010, she founded Every Mother Counts, a campaign to improve the health and well-being of girls and women worldwide. The organization’s mission is to end preventable deaths caused by pregnancy and childbirth worldwide.
PVH Corp., one of the world’s largest apparel companies, owns and markets the Calvin Klein brand in the global marketplace. In October, PVH acquired Warnaco Group Inc., the worldwide licensee of Calvin Klein Jeans and the owner of the Calvin Klein trademarks for underwear, sleepwear and loungewear. The deal was valued at $2.9 billion.
