NEW YORK — Stephanie Winston Wolkoff is going out on her own.
Winston Wolkoff, who, for the last two-and-a-half years, has served as the founding fashion director at Lincoln Center, is launching SWW Creative, a new agency that seeks to forge new partnerships in fashion, beauty and entertainment. The move is effective Tuesday, and the executive has already lined up a roster of clients, including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and IMG Fashion Worldwide.
In her time at Lincoln Center, Winston Wolkoff spearheaded the integration of fashion events at the arts venue, including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week’s move from Bryant Park to Damrosch Park, as well as last year’s “Lincoln Center Presents Ralph Lauren in Conversation with Oprah Winfrey.” Prior to that, she served as director of special events at Vogue magazine for more that a decade, working on the Costume Institute gala, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and 7th on Sale, among others.
Winston Wolkoff will continue to be closely involved with events related to the runway shows, but, she noted, SWW Creative will allow her “to lend my capabilities to forge lasting partnerships on behalf of the fashion industry beyond fashion week.”
SWW Creative will focus on areas such as production; partnership development by consulting individuals, brands and companies looking to engage in collaborations; sponsorship council; strategic planning; social media, and talent development. Winston Wolkoff aims to consult and advise brands, retailers and other companies within fashion, beauty and entertainment worlds and help connect these areas to create new opportunities. “After almost two decades in the fashion and art worlds, I am ready to bridge the gap into the entertainment world as well,” she said. “The support from my mentors has been overwhelmingly positive and I am so fortunate to have had the ability to work with some of the most incredible people in all industries. Now I can create so many initiatives and productions and advise on so many levels.”
