LILLY PULITZER GOES PAPERLESS: Paperless invitations are all the rage when it comes to party planning, and Cocodot.com, the go-to for online invites with an A-list clientele that includes Brooke Shields and Gwyneth Paltrow, is releasing its first designer collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer today. The collaboration’s offerings keep in step with the signature colorful prints that have become the Lilly Pulitzer aesthetic. The only gripe that the preppy set of Pulitzer devotees might have is that the collection should’ve come out earlier in the season. ANN TAYLOR’S FORAY INTO FOURSQUARE: Ann Taylor’s entered into the testing phase of its first partnership with location based application Foursquare Friday, although it was officially announced to their 52,116 Facebook “likes” Tuesday. As far as promotions go, users who check in to any of the brand’s eight New York City stores will get 15 percent off at their fifth check in while Mayors will get 25 percent off (no minimum amount of check ins required). According to the company, there is no set time for the trial period, the brand plans to closely monitor how clients respond to the application before officially launching it to the public. “Women today are busier and always on the go. We want to be in the places where our clients are spending their time, and right now it’s online and on their phones. Through Foursquare we can make it easier for her to engage with the brand and increase loyalty,” said Christine Beauchamp, president of Ann Taylor. “We feel there is a real opportunity to drive traffic through Foursquare and potentially drive to specific stores at strategic times. As we continue to explore the social media sphere, we are always looking for new ways to connect with our customers and drive our sales.”
