Bright Young Things Blogger Style Off: You might remember Eliza Starbuck of label Bright Young Things from The Uniform Project, as she was the designer who created the black dress her friend Sheena Matheiken wore for a year straight (styled differently, of course) to raise money for charity. Starbuck is now turning her attention bloggers with her Bright Young Things Style Challenger, which kicked off today, and is also based around the concept of her single Little Black Dress. Felicia Walker Benson of This That Beauty, Yuka Yoneda of Ecouterre, Pamela Castillo of Market Publique, Leah Chernikoff of Fashionista, Summer Rayne Oakes the Eco-Model, Emma Grady of Treehugger, Johanna Bjork of Goodlifer, Roberta Correia of It’s Only Fashion and Tiffany of Six Six Sick have been commissioned by Starbuck to style two looks each comprised of her little black dress and pieces from East Village vintage store Cobblestones. With a panel of judges that includes Chris Benz, Vena Cava’s Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock and Elettra Weidemann, winners in varying categories will be announced August 2. I think it’s something every woman struggles with. I think the biggest thing is that we as women should try to be the best versions of ourselves, not fit into a mold. I know I’m very lucky, but I have been criticized by my crazy business and it took me a while to realize that I couldn’t transform myself into something I wasn’t. I had to embrace what made me “me” and really learn to just appreciate and try to improve what I already had.
