EBAY REMADE: EBay rolled out a major update to its Web site, featuring a host of features designed to harness social interactions. For the first time the company will use curators — from Pharrell Williams to Chris Benz — to help present collections of goods.
AMAZON’S BIGGER FOURTH QUARTER: Amazon.com Inc. projected fourth-quarter sales would rise between 10 and 25 percent, shooting as high as $26.5 billion. Third-quarter sales gained 23.8 percent to $17.09 billion, but the company still lost $41 million as it spent to feed further growth. The company’s stock jumped 9.4 percent to $363.39 Friday, leaving it with a market capitalization of $166 billion.
…AND FASHION SHOOT: Amazon’s new 40,000-square-foot photography facility in Brooklyn is now open. It has 28 bays for styling, shooting and editing apparel, footwear and accessories, will hum with activity 24/7 once its fully up and running in the coming weeks.

DIESEL’S NORTH AMERICAN PUSH: WWD learned that Diesel is going to launch a new online retail partnership in North America with multiple partners, including SapientNitro and eBay Enterprise, a unit of the U.S. e-commerce giant, formerly GSI Commerce.
LAZADA’S FASHION MOVE: Lazada, the largest online shopping mall in Southeast Asia, which launched in 2012 selling electronics, health and beauty aids and lifestyle products, is moving into fashion.
