ART PROJECT: Vivienne Westwood has tapped artist Jack Pierson to photograph her fall campaign. Westwood herself appears in the campaign alongside Dutch model Iekeliene Stange. Male models Mac Phiri and Michael McCaughley also appear in the images. The campaign was shot on location at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, London, and was inspired by the collection, which drew references from medieval Europe via illustrations in illuminated manuscripts and the return of crusaders.
This is the first time the designer has partnered with Pierson, who is known for his photography, sculpture, video and drawings that explore traditional American motifs and feelings of nostalgia and disillusionment.
