PRINT RUN: British Vogue is set to open up its archive of fashion photography and illustrated images for its readers to buy as art prints.
Starting on March 14, British Vogue will launch a selection of its prints on the Web site Easyart.com, a British online retailer that carries framed and unframed art and photographic prints.
The first 50 Vogue prints to debut on the Web site will date from the Forties, Fifties and Sixties, with photographs by Cecil Beaton, Henry Clarke, Clifford Coffin, Eugene Vernier, Don Honeyman and Claud Virgin among those featured.
Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue, said of the new venture: “This is an example of the best of the old marrying happily with the newer print-on-demand technology, as we begin to build up to British Vogue’s 100th anniversary [in 2016].”
Prices for the Vogue prints start at 24.95 pounds, or $42 at current exchange, for the smallest unframed print, with framed prints starting at 60 pounds, or $100, for the smallest print size.
Additional prints from Vogue’s archive will be available to buy on the site at later dates.
