MIRROR IMAGE: Chaumet is getting a new face. The Place Vendôme jeweler has tapped rising actress Marine Vacth to star in its new advertising campaign, shot by Mario Sorrenti.
Vacth garnered attention at the Cannes film festival last year for her role as a teenage prostitute in François Ozon’s “Jeune et jolie.”
The 22-year-old was recently nominated for the award for most promising young actress at the annual Césars, the French equivalent of the Academy Awards. Together with 31 other up-and-comers, she featured in a visuals and a short film sponsored by Chaumet in the run-up to the ceremony.
The new advertising campaign features a mirror image of the actress, inspired by the myth of Narcissus. Three images — titled The Kiss, Intimacy and Complicity — are used to showcase the house’s Liens, Joséphine and Hortensia collections.
The ads broke in Air France Madame magazine today and will be rolled out internationally in the next few weeks. The campaign replaces Chaumet’s previous visuals, starring French actress Sophie Marceau.
