CNE GRABS REVENUE GURU: Condé Nast Entertainment has hired Lisa Valentino as chief revenue officer, a newly created role. Valentino, who will report to executive vice president and chief digital officer Fred Santarpia, will be charged with “leading revenue generation for the division.” This refers specifically to advertising and marketing solutions for the group.
Valentino joins CNE from ESPN, where she served as senior vice president of multimedia sales. In that role, she sold programs across ESPN’s portfolio, which included both domestic and international television, digital, live-event and print platforms. Prior to ESPN, the executive worked for Yahoo, where she managed video and ad sales for several verticals.

“Today’s marketers know that the lines have blurred and consumers no longer make a differentiation between television and digital video content,” offered Dawn Ostroff, president of CNE, who touted Valentino’s experience and “knowledge and understanding of the evolving marketplace.”
For many media companies, digital, and specifically video, is the next beacon for potential revenue generation.
