Cosmopolitan’s Fashion Director Exits

Michelle McCool has left the magazine after 10 years.

COLE’S GO-SEES: Cosmopolitan fashion director Michelle McCool has left the magazine after 10 years. McCool is said to be on to other pursuits.

It’s no secret that Joanna Coles has been shaking up the masthead since she took over the helm at Cosmo in September. Intent on ramping up the magazine’s fashion caliber, the new editor in chief has been speaking with “a few pretty high-profile names,” though no one has been locked in just yet, one insider said. “It’s all part of Joanna’s plans to make Cosmo a major player in the fashion world,” said the source, who requested anonymity.

Coles declined comment and McCool could not be reached for comment.

One source said a new fashion director would be named “shortly.”
