Condé Nast Names Publisher

Matt Rice has been elevated to the role of publisher of and NowManifest, effective immediately.

CONDÉ’S NEW STYLE: Condé Nast has elevated Matt Rice to the role of publisher of and NowManifest, effective immediately. Rice had been associate publisher of and NowManifest since July 2012, where he succeeded Nicole Amico. Prior to that, he served as advertising director of and executive director of international fashion of, WWD and The publisher’s position at the Web site is a new one.

“Matt has been very effective at building awareness of and NowManifest among advertisers looking to connect with deeply engaged audiences of fashion influencers,” said Robert Sauerberg, president of Condé Nast. “He will continue to expand these brands at Condé Nast as we look to increase their reach on all platforms.”

Rice joined Condé Nast in June 2007 and has held roles at several of the firm’s titles, including Details, Glamour and Teen Vogue.

The appointment follows the announcement of Condé Nast’s impending sale of Fairchild Fashion Media, which includes WWD, to Penske Media Corp. and NowManifest, which were part of Fairchild, moved over to Condé Nast. Both properties will move to Condé’s new offices at One World Trade Center in the coming months, but their floor assignments have yet to be disclosed.

There’s always the 29th floor. That’s where Lucky magazine was to be situated before Condé Nast spun off the title earlier this month into a joint venture with the e-commerce Web site BeachMint. Lucky is currently shopping for office space.
