Gerard Darel Celebrates Necklace Launch With Mini-Film

Lensed by Jean-Paul Lilienfeld, it will hit movie theaters this September.

MOVING PICTURE: Gerard Darel is tapping into its Left Bank heritage. To celebrate the launch of its New Jackie necklace, the contemporary brand has created a mini-film shot by Jean-Paul Lilienfeld that was inspired by the young Jackie Bouvier (subsequently Kennedy) as a student in the Paris of the Fifties. The 47-second ad featuring model Marjolaine Rocher, who also appears in the brand’s print campaigns, will launch in movie theaters mid-September.


The New Jackie necklace is a reinterpretation of a pearl choker worn by Kennedy during a state visit to Paris in the Sixties, the original having been acquired by Gerard Darel at Sotheby’s in 1996.


Five hundred New Jackie necklaces, made of blown glass pearls attached by an adjustable grosgrain ribbon, will be available in the brand’s own stores at the beginning of September, priced 260 euros, or $357.92 at current exchange.
