Calypso Launching Ads for New Girl’s Line

The campaign features high-profile New York women and their daughters, sisters, mothers and grandmothers.

LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER: Calypso is getting ready for some mommy-and-me action. The brand’s popular tunics are now available in girls’ sizes, two to eight. Stefanie Smith, Calypso’s president, noted that the girls’ products are available for a limited time. To publicize the products, Calypso has developed an ad campaign, “Generations of Style,” featuring high-profile New York women and their daughters, sisters, mothers and grandmothers. “We often have multiple generations from the same family shopping at the same time in our store,” Smith said.

Former first lady of New York Michelle Paige Paterson appeared with her 23-year-old daughter, Ashley Dennis, and her own mother, Kay Johnson. Sherry Brewer, the ex-wife of Edgar Bronfman Jr., was photographed with her 24-year-old daughter, Hannah, a writer and activist. Other models included author Jill Kargman with her daughters Sadie, 8, and Ivy, 5, and Annie Georgia Greenberg, an editor at Refinery29, with her mother, Ella, a special education teacher.
