LEGENDS OF THE BALL: It looks like Louis Vuitton has scored three soccer deities for its next “core values” advertising spots — and just in time for World Cup mania that kicks off in Johannesburg in June. Speculation is Argentina’s Diego Maradona, France’s Zinédine Zidane and Brazil’s Pelé posed for photographer Annie Leibovitz for a campaign that trumpets Vuitton’s travel roots and spotlights its monogram canvas bags. Past stars of the campaign, which tends to be male focused, include Sean Connery, Keith Richards and Mikhail Gorbachev. Vuitton declined all comment. — Miles Socha

NEW FACE: Annabel Vered has been tapped as senior executive editor of Star magazine, succeeding Martin Gould. She previously worked at In Touch Weekly, most recently as executive editor. — Amy Wicks
