Real Simple Appoints Lori Leibovich

She will start her new role as online editor on May 5.

Real Simple has tapped Lori Leibovich as online editor.

Leibovich, who will report to Real Simple editor Kristin van Ogtrop, will start her new job on May 5. She replaces Kathleen Harris, who left the company last month.

As editor of, Leibovich will be responsible for the magazine’s digital content, including ongoing product development and growing the daily Web site’s traffic.

“Lori is a seasoned journalist and digital pioneer,” said van Ogtrop. “Her extensive lifestyle experience across digital and print make her the perfect choice to lead and expand this amazing brand’s footprint and reach.”

Prior to joining Real Simple, Leibovich served as executive lifestyle editor of The Huffington Post. She also worked as’s lifestyle editor where she introduced its Broadsheet blog.

Leibovich was also part of the launch team of Talk magazine and was an editor at Cookie, Teen People and Babble.
