RIVIERA AFFAIR: Giorgio Armani and Graydon Carter will be upping the fashion and glamour ante on the Cannes party circuit this year. The designer and Vanity Fair’s editor in chief are to host an event celebrating the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. The cocktail and dinner will take place on Saturday at the Hôtel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, overlooking the Mediterranean coastline that inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald for “Tender Is the Night.” A private after party will follow.
Vanity Fair is returning to the festival after sitting out last year’s edition, which coincided with the launch of the French edition of the title. This year, both the U.S. and French editions of the magazine will compete for VIP guests, with Vanity Fair France joining forces with Chanel for a dinner on May 20.
The last Cannes event hosted by Carter was a party in 2012 with Gucci in honor of Martin Scorsese’s Film Foundation, which drew stars including Jennifer Lopez, Naomi Campbell, Tim Burton, George Lucas, Catherine Deneuve and Meg Ryan.
