The Cut Adds Fashion News Editor

The fashion and lifestyle Web site hired Véronique Hyland for the newly-created position of fashion news editor.

The Cut is continuing its focus on building out its fashion coverage.

According to editorial director Stella Bugbee, the site has tapped Véronique Hyland for the new position of fashion news editor.

Hyland will “report and assign stories on the fashion industry, including show coverage, designer interviews, brand exclusives and fashion media coverage, with an eye toward increasing The Cut’s breaking news coverage,” the New York Media-owned site said.

The move is part of a broader push for New York magazine and its affiliate site The Cut to up its fashion and luxury coverage.

Hyland comes to The Cut from Elle magazine, where she served as fashion news editor since 2012. She has also held positions at Harper’s Bazaar and WWD.

Bugbee offered that Hyland’s hire is “a testament to The Cut that we’re attracting talent from established fashion magazines.”
