Since landing in Cannes on Sunday, the Brangelina clan (all six of them) has spent some quality time on the grounds of the Hôtel du Cap. “We’ve been playing with our children since the moment we landed,” said Angelina Jolie. But Monday was all about work: the world premiere of “A Mighty Heart,” in which Jolie stars as journalist Mariane Pearl (wife of Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was abducted and murdered in Pakistan) and Brad Pitt served as producer. Crowds at the Palais clamored for Jolie, dressed simply in a mauve silk Tahari top and black Joseph skirt at noon and a glam vintage Pierre Balmain haute couture dress from Decades for the red carpet later on. During the photo ops, the couple exchanged smiles every few minutes. “Truthfully, being in Cannes doesn’t feel much different for us because we’ve always got a camera following us around. But we are happy to be here and have great respect for this story,” said Pitt, who poked fun at the endless shout-outs for his girlfriend by referring to her as “what’s-her-name.” Though the realistic film wasn’t easy to watch, Jolie said, “I don’t make a point to always preach what I believe. There’s always room for entertainment and I’m fortunate to do wild, fun roles, too. I’m still capable of being really silly and fun.”
