WANELO AND NORDSTROM: Buzzy social shopping site Wanelo is stepping into the physical world with the help of Nordstrom, which is rolling out wall displays to 107 stores featuring styles it already carries, but that are rated most popular by Wanelo’s users.
WATCHING ANDROID WEAR: David Singleton, the unassuming engineering director at Google, wore the standard-issue Silicon Valley hoodie as he preached the virtues of the Android Wear operating system at the company’s developers conference. Smart watches from Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics were made available for preorder at Google’s Play store.
ALIBABA’S NEW YORK MOVE: Alibaba Group Holding filed to sell its shares to the public in May, but waited until this week to decide on the New York Stock Exchange. At up to $200 billion, the listing could be the largest offering ever in the U.S.
ASOS’ FIRE PLAN: Online retailer Asos reopened its Web site following a fire at its U.K. warehouse. Asos said none of the technology, automation or structure of the warehouse in Barnsley, northern England, was affected by the fire, which broke out June 20.
“PATRIOTIC” E-COMMERCE AND SOCIAL BRANDS: Apple, Amazon and Google all made the top 10 of Brand Keys’ ranking of the most “patriotic” brands. Apple finished sixth with a patriotism rating of 90 percent. Amazon and Google weren’t far behind, ranked at eighth (88 percent) and 10th (86 percent).

BONOBOS FOR BABIES: Monica + Andy, the e-commerce site for baby clothing and accessories created by Monica Royer, has opened its first Guideshop in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Royer’s brother and Bonobos founder and chief executive officer, Andy Dunn, is the company’s lead investor and chief adviser and sits on its board.
