Lucky editor in chief Eva Chen is said to be leaving the company as soon as Thursday, sources told WWD.
Multiple sources have indicated that the magazine is going all digital, and that several investors in Silicon Valley have been interested in an acquisition of the company.
Chen was spotted having lunch with Condé Nast president Bob Sauerberg in the building’s cafeteria Tuesday. It could not be determined whether Chen would remain at Condé Nast.
Sources indicated that Lucky Group president Gillian Gorman Round will likely be dismissed.
Last summer, Lucky was spun off in a joint venture between Condé Nast and e-commerce firm Beachmint Group. The move was heralded by Condé as a way to develop the Lucky franchise but was seen by most as a cost-cutting exercise. Once one of the publishing firm’s hottest titles, the shopping magazine has struggled to carve out a niche in the age of online shopping.
A Conde Nast spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
