The New York-based manufacturer will produce men’s raincoats and topcoats under the better DKNY label for the North American market, with product scheduled to land at Macy’s and other department stores this fall.
The three-year agreement was structured as a sublicensing deal through Peerleess Clothing International, the suit behemoth that has been making DKNY tailored clothing for a year. Peerless and Weintraub, both of which operate out of 641 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, have struck similar partnerships before. Weintraub’s current deals with Calvin Klein and Lauren by Ralph Lauren topcoats were also sublicensed through Peerless.
Overcoats will retail starting at $595; raincoats start at $395.
