Samsonite Signs Outerwear License

The brand's new licensing deal with Zee Co. Apparel will secure an outerwear launch in fall 2013.

Samsonite has signed a licensing deal with Zee Co. Apparel for an outerwear collection that will launch in fall 2013. Zee is best known for its Hawke & Co. outerwear collection and also produces private-label merchandise and uniforms.

The line, which will start with men’s and eventually expand into women’s wear, will offer technical features such as moisture-wicking, antiwrinkle properties and tear-resistant fabrics, as well as a variety of pockets and other details designed to hold smartphones and tablets. Several of the pieces are packable and designed to be stored in the company’s luggage collection.

The collection will retail for $75 to $350 and will be sold at department and specialty stores, including the 250 freestanding Samsonite stores.

Samsonite will incorporate the pieces into its advertising and promotional campaigns for that season.
