LONDON — British label Nicole Farhi has named Massimo Nicosia head of men’s wear for the Nicole Farhi and Farhi by Nicole Farhi collections.
The Nicole Farhi collection will return to Milan Fashion Week in January.
Previously, Nicosia was head of the men’s wear collections at Pringle of Scotland and Alessandro Dell’Acqua.
“I am delighted to have Massimo as part of the team,” said Farhi. “As an Italian, he will bring a continental element to the men’s wear collection, which I am very excited about. He has a sensibility very close to mine, and we really understand each other.”
Nicosia said he would be working with a brand “that has a strong heritage and is known for its understated richness, through luxurious fabrics and detailing.”
He said the new collection would apply “innovative techniques to natural fabrics and knitwear, and develop a sharp silhouette with a soft construction.”
Niki Scordi, chief executive of Nicole Farhi described men’s wear as a “strategic and significant” part of the business. “Massimo’s appointment and our return to Milan reinforce our commitment to our men’s wear collections,” she said.
