PARIS — Sports and fashion have a new tie-up.
Cerruti on Monday said it had sealed a partnership to dress the AS Monaco soccer team players and staff.
European fashion brands, including Giorgio Armani, have dressed soccer squads recently to reach customers who are fiercely loyal to their teams.
“We are very happy to be associated with AS Monaco,” said Cerruti president Philippe Cleach. “We share the same values for quality, excellence and style.”
Cerruti created a gray made-to-measure suit, a white poplin shirt and gray tie emblazoned with the team’s monogram for dressy occasions. For more informal appearances, Cerruti designed a black silk polo shirt and a black trench coat.
In October, Cerruti replaced designer Nicolas Andreas Taralis with Belgian Jean-Paul Knott.
