In seasons past, designers presented outerwear with a sportswear sensibility, with puffy coats paramount. This fall, they turn back to the classics, specifically the tailored topcoat. But don’t think just any old Chesterfield: this time around, the look is sculpted with a strong shoulder (even reminiscent of the Eighties in some cases), a fitted silhouette and over-the-knee length. Colors range from solid black and navy to rich gray shadow herringbones.
