The contemporary-priced “urban casual” sportswear line will include outerwear, leatherwear, knitwear, shirts, jackets, jersey, jeans and accessories.

The target consumers are “trendsetting, extravagant, adventurous” 18- to 35-year-olds, said an Ittierre spokeswoman. The company is also the licensee for Just Cavalli, C’N’C Costume National and Ermanno Scervino.

Galliano is the diffusion label of John Galliano, the designer collection known for its theatricality and couturelike craft. The John Galliano line always includes distinctive and wearable outerwear, tailoring and underwear, but overall, it appears ripe for broader interpretation by the contemporary sportswear market.

Ittierre, the manufacturing arm of IT Holding, has produced, manufactured and distributed the Galliano contemporary women’s collection for years and will do the same for the men’s. Ittierre confirmed the plans after Galliano appeared on the schedule for Milan men’s fashion week. The men’s collection will be presented Jan. 18. Ittierre parent company IT Holding has been in government-backed bankruptcy protection since February. Italy’s minister of development is expected to make a decision about the future of Ittierre as well as IT Holding’s directly owned brands as part of a restructuring plan.
