New York Mets pitcher Tom Glavine not only throws a mean fastball, he’s also a super father. And those parenting skills will be rewarded by the National Father’s Day Committee when Glavine is awarded a Father of the Year award at the group’s annual luncheon Thursday, June 7, 2007, at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Tower in Manhattan. Glavine, a father of four, will be joined by other honorees including Allen Sirkin, president and COO, Phillips-Van Heusen; General George W. Casey, Jr., U.S. Army Chief of Staff; wrestler Hulk Hogan; Harry Smith, host of The Early Show on CBS-TV. Sirkin also will be presented with the esteemed 2007 Milton Margolis Humanitarian award. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Save The Children charity.
