Dockers is getting ready to flex its muscle in the men’s casual pant market.
Today, the division of Levi Strauss & Co. will unveil Smart 360 Flex, a khaki pant program that offers a new four-way stretch fabric that is intended to provide enhanced comfort and flexibility. Most fabrics only feature one-way stretch, but the Flex khakis move both horizontally and vertically, the company said.
Ian Harrison, vice president of merchandising for Dockers, said when the brand was launched in 1986, it was intended to fill the void for men seeking to “showcase a bit more of their individual style.” But men today “want comfort, modernity and the ability to jet from boardroom to happy hour in a pair of pants that deliver on this simple mandate,” so 360 Flex was created.
The pants offer a stretch interior waist, covert security pockets and stretch internal pocket bags.
The collection will be available starting in September at Macy’s Inc. and Kohl’s Corp. as well as on the brand’s web site and in select Dockers retail stores.
They will be available in a range of fits, including the Workday Khaki, Downtime Khaki, Alpha Khaki and Alpha Jogger. Each style is available in an assortment of colors and range in price from $66 to $72, pricing that is consistent with the more traditional Dockers offering.
