Arnold Brant Silverstone has left Nordstrom, where he had served as designer director for the retailer’s private label dresswear for the past two years, and is heading back to the vendor side.

“I loved my Nordstrom consulting role. We achieved great successes, growing the business substantially, launching new products, items and brands,” said the designer, who revamped the store’s tailored clothing offering, including its Napoli label. “I learned a lot about the retail side and I look forward to benefiting from this additional knowledge as I return to the wholesale side.”
Silverstone, who sold his namesake label, Arnold Brant, to Oxford Industries in 2005, said he is in discussions with a few men’s wear companies to secure an executive-level position. His next move could be solidified in the next few weeks.
The designer’s move to Nordstrom in 2008 grabbed headlines and was the culmination of a long relationship between Silverstone and the retailer, which had been a major supporter of his eponymous brand. After renewing his contract for a second year in 2009, Silverstone and Nordstrom decided to part ways this year.
“I wanted to get back to the entrepreneur side,” he said. “That’s what I’ve spent most of my career.”
