ATLANTA—Chuck Sakmann has been named director of sales at Ashworth, Inc. to help launch the golf-inspired lifestyle sportswear company’s recently acquired, Montreal-based Sunice brand of technical outerwear in the U.S.
Sakmann, based in Pennsylvania, will also manage the Ashworth business in the Northeast U.S.
Over the past 15 years, Sakmann, who is entering his 30th year in the golf industry, has worked as a business owner who founded Firethorn apparel and as a turnaround consultant and executive for Tommy Hilfiger golf. Currently, he owns and operates a multi-line manufacturers’ rep agency and the Bob Timberlake apparel brand.
Ashworth expects to launch the golf-related technical outerwear line during 2008 in the U.S., the U.K., Ireland and Europe.
