NEW YORK — Get ready for another Las Vegas trade show—Capsule is gearing up for its first edition there this February.
Slated to run Feb. 17 and 18 in a convention space in the Luxor hotel, the new Capsule show will be its third location, following its first Paris show this past summer and the original New York show that debuted in 2007. Capsule targets upscale, indie designers, premium brands and their boutique retail buyers. The show’s organizers, the BPMW showroom in New York, are aiming for 40 to 50 vendors for the kickoff Las Vegas show.
“It will be a very similar setup to New York, with a brand assortment from all over the world,” said Edina Sultanik Silver, a partner at BPMW. “There’s a certain caliber of retailer and designer that we consider to be part of our community that we felt there is an opportunity to serve there.”
Brands that have showed at the New York or Paris editions of Capsule include Alexander Herchcovitch, Ksubi, April77, Kidrobot, Simon Miller Jeans and Super eyewear. The New York edition of the show has generated healthy buzz in a short period of time, and this past summer showcased about 70 brands.
In Las Vegas, BPMW is charging $5,000 for a standard 9×9 foot booth for apparel and $2,000 for a similar booth for accessories. Apart from the Capsule shows, BPMW also operates the Compass shoe show in Las Vegas.
The Capsule show joins a crowded field of apparel shows in Las Vegas, including MAGIC, Project, Pool, ENK Vegas and MRket, which all exhibit concurrently each season.
