Capsule Trade Show Expands Into Women’s

The Capsule trade show will launch a new women’s edition next season in New York, slated for Feb. 22 and 23 during market week.

The Capsule trade show will launch a new women’s edition next season in New York, slated for Feb. 22 and 23 during market week. Previously, Capsule solely operated a men’s-focused show, staged during men’s market weeks in New York, Paris and Las Vegas.

The new women’s show will be held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation building, which is also home to the men’s show, the next edition of which is slated for Jan. 18 and 19. Additionally, the men’s show will expand next season to the Puck building in order to accommodate more vendors.

“We’ve had a waiting list for the past four seasons, so we decided to expand the show into a second location,” said Minya Quirk, a partner at the BPMW showroom, which owns Capsule. “Both the Puck building and Angel Orensanz are beautiful historic buildings, and they are conveniently located near each other for buyers.”

The Capsule show has gained traction in the contemporary and emerging designer markets since its founding in 2007. Last season it hosted about 77 brands in New York, and it will be able to hold a similar number in the Puck building.

The Paris edition of Capsule is scheduled for Jan. 22 to 24 and Las Vegas is set for Feb. 16 and 17. BPMW also operates the Compass shoe show in New York, scheduled for Feb. 1 and 2.
