Gant will open its second Rugger store in Los Angeles on May 1. The 1,100-square-foot space is designed as a neighborhood shop and is located at 101 S. La Brea Avenue, a trendy shopping area.
“La Brea is a perfect fit for our second Gant Rugger store in L.A.,” said David Arbuthnot, chief executive officer, who noted the area was seeing development in the areas of apparel, restaurants and home design. “We’ve been fans for a long time and our creative team always shops La Brea when they visit L.A. We look forward to launching our spring collection there.”
The new Los Angeles store joins existing Gant Rugger neighborhood shops in Manhattan, Brooklyn, San Francisco and Chicago. The design was inspired by the “brasserie-influenced concept” seen in the company’s new Paris store and New York doors, and features antique brass fixtures, reclaimed gym floors and an exposed industrial ceiling.
In addition to the Gant Rugger and Gant by Michael Bastian collections, the store will feature exclusive designs by plant artist Satoshi Kawamoto that were unveiled during the company’s New York Fashion Week presentation in February.
