Harmont & Blaine Sales Rise 19% in Q1

Italian men’s wear firm Harmont & Blaine said first-quarter revenues rose 19 percent to 16.3 million euros, or $21.3 million.

PARIS — Italian men’s wear firm Harmont & Blaine said first-quarter revenues rose 19 percent to 16.3 million euros, or $21.3 million, and confirmed its expansion plans for 2009.

The company said earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, (EBITDA) gained 34.8 percent to 6.2 million euros, or $8.1 million. Dollar figures are converted at average exchange rates for the period. Domenico Menniti, Harmont’s chief executive officer, said forthcoming store openings include Porto Banus, Spain, the Turin airport and Istanbul.

After opening boutiques in Doha in February and Hong Kong last month, the company’s retail network spans 27 stores in Italy, seven of which are franchised, and 25 in the rest of the world. Harmont & Blaine is also wholesaled to about 600 doors.
