Men’s Wear Summit Set for March 27

More than 200 of the most senior players in the industry will converge in New York City for the Fairchild Fashion Media Men’s Wear Summit.

More than 200 of the most senior players in the men’s wear industry will converge on the Asia Society in New York City on March 27 for the Fairchild Fashion Media Men’s Wear Summit.

The theme of this year’s event is “Breaking Boundaries,” a fitting description for the speakers who will assess, discuss and offer insights into the challenges and opportunities in today’s marketplace. Topics include evolution of a brand image, blurring the lines between designer and streetwear, revamping retail, engaging opportunities across all platforms and identifying the best pockets for growth.

Confirmed speakers include Liz Rodbell, president of the department store group of Hudson’s Bay Co., which includes Hudson’s Bay in Canada and Lord & Taylor in the U.S. She will be joined by Claudio Del Vecchio, chairman and chief executive officer of Brooks Brothers Group Inc.

In addition to retailers, the one-day event will also include cutting-edge designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright, managing partners of Rag & Bone; Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, founders and designers of Public School, and Scott Sternberg, founder and creative director of Band of Outsiders.

Providing the view from more-traditional brands that are reinventing venerable brands will be Brendan Mullane, creative director of Brioni, and Lisa Kamalsky Collier, executive vice president and president of the Dockers brand of Levi Strauss & Co. Heath Carr, ceo of Bedrock Manufacturing (Shinola), will provide his perspective on establishing a new business model.

There is a planned panel discussion on the changing role of trade shows with Tommy Fazio, president of Project and Menswear for Advanstar Fashion Group; Deirdre Maloney, cofounder of Capsule and BPMW; Aaron Levant, founder of Agenda, and Sam Ben-Avraham, founder of Atrium and Liberty Fairs and cofounder of Kith.

Stephen Russell, founder and ceo of Prism Skylabs, a business that helps companies measure offline conversion, will also speak. In addition to Prism Skylabs, other sponsors include Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, Castanea Partners, 24 Seven, Essential Homme and Herbert Mines Associates.
