Men’s Wear Summit Speakers Set

Thom Browne has joined the lineup of retailers and designers at the upcoming Fairchild Fashion Media Men’s Wear Summit.

The theme of this year’s event will be “Redefining the Modern Man,” and the daylong session will be held Wednesday, March 20 at the Asia Society in New York City.

Speakers will address how a perfect storm of economic factors, technological advancements and cultural phenomena has created a new breed of man: smart, strategic, stylish and driven. His presence has changed the men’s wear market, and successful brands are transforming their business models to address the needs of this powerful new consumer. Speakers will touch on the effective utilization of multiple sales channels and how to provide an authentic customer experience at every step in the process.

Among the confirmed speakers are Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, founders of Opening Ceremony and creative directors of Kenzo; Douglas Ewert, president and chief executive officer of The Men’s Wearhouse; Kevin Carrigan, global creative director for ck Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein; Durand Guion, vice president and men’s fashion director for Macy’s, and blogger and photographer Scott Schuman, founder of The Sartorialist. Eric Jennings, vice president and men’s fashion director of Saks Fifth Avenue; Courtney Colavita, worldwide director of social media for Gucci, and Nickelson Wooster, senior vice president of product development and design for J.C. Penney Co. Inc., will also be presenters at the event.

There will also be a roundtable discussion on the impact and opportunities of being Made in the USA featuring designer Billy Reid, Kent Kilroe, managing director of Freemans Sporting Club, and Maurizio Donadi, chief creative officer of Bedrock Creative Office. The session will be led by Michael Williams, founder and editor of A Continuous Lean.
