ATLANTA — Nau, Inc. has launched a completely redesigned e-commerce Website featuring its fall 2008 apparel line.
The apparel company also will begin selling through select retail partners across the country for the first time.
Just six months ago, Nau was planning to close its doors because it was unable to secure late-round financing. While Nau did close its retail stores, Horny Toad, a Santa Barbara, Calif.-based outdoor leisure apparel company, stepped in and acquired the remaining assets of Nau. In Nau’s former format, its products were available for sale only through its Website and its own brick and mortar stores known as ‘Webfronts.’ Retailers that will carry Nau this fall include Paragon, Unce Dan’s (in Chicago, and Lizard Lounge (in Portland, Ore.).
Nau is also holding onto the vision that formed the essence of its brand, Through Nau’s partners for Change program, the company will continue to give a percentage of every sale to organizations working for positive change, while still involving customers directly in the selection process when purchasing product via nau.com. Only, the amount given now will be 2 percent of sales, which is less than Nau’s previous benchmark of 5 percent. The company points out it’s still 28 times the national average for corporate philanthropy as a percent of sales.
