ATLANTA — Outdoors retailer Half Moon Outfitters has won Prana’s “Build a Prana Environment” merchandising contest that was launched in June 2007.
The contest, designed to encourage retailers to conceptualize and build Prana-themed environments in their stores, received an overwhelming number of entries, Prana said. The winning display featured aspects of Prana’s wind power initiative, an abstract wind farm, methods of sustainability, recycled materials and Prana apparel.
Half Moon Outfitters, based in Charleston, S.C., with stores also in Greenville, Columbia and Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Savannah, Ga., duplicated the theme in four of its five locations.
First prize is a three-day vacation to San Diego for two that includes a private sightseeing flight with Prana founder and pilot, Beaver Theodosakis, as well as additional discounts on all fall 2007 pre-season orders.
Second place was awarded to Landsharks in Saugatuck, Mich., and that prize includes a climbing trip for two with world-class climber Chris Sharma.
Said Theodosakis, “We were truly inspired by the creativity and passion of the teams that built these displays, especially their take on the theme of sustainability.”
