ATLANTA — Gary De Bay has joined Spyder Active Sports as executive vice-president of global strategy and marketing, after serving the company on a consultant level since November 2007.

It is a new position for the company, which acquired Cloudveil Mountain Works in February.

De Bay will be responsible for global brand strategy and marketing for the Spyder Ski, Spyder Active, Spyder Venom and Cloudveil Mountain Works brands. He will oversee all brand marketing functions, including consumer marketing research, joint venture and licensed store development, catalog and e-commerce programs, advertising, sports marketing, online marketing and digital brand content.

Previously, De Bay was president and chief marketing officer of EXPLOR LLC, a global brand development company. In his new position, he will report to Jake Jacobs, president and CEO of Spyder.
