NEW YORK — Wayne Markowitz has been named CFO and COO of Neema Clothing as part of a larger executive shuffle at the suit maker.
“Wayne has a wealth of experience and knowledge in both financial management and day-to day operations,” said Neema president and CEO Jim Ammeen. “His presence at Neema will relieve much of the daily pressure off the senior management group and allow us to focus on the market and merchandising side of the business.”
Markowitz had been a managing partner at The Hindsight Group, a consulting firm specializing in finance and business governance. Prior to that he was the executive vice-president/CFO for GFT USA Corp. He assumed his new role at Neema last week and will report to Jim Ammeen. He replaces Neil Goldberg, who left his post as CFO last November.
Markowitz will also serve as Neema’s COO, taking some operational responsibility from Jeffrey Ammeen, who was recently promoted to executive vice-president. The younger Ammeen will now focus on marketing and merchandising.
Jim Ammeen also hired Jim Murray to serve as the company’s executive sales manager. The former president of major store business at HMX Tailored, Murray will handle select major accounts for the vendor. His career also includes a stint at Plaid Clothing Co., where he was president.
“We are thrilled to have Jim Murray join us. He brings a high level of talent, experience and marketing expertise to our organization,” Ammeen said.
Neema makes tailored clothing for the better and mid-tier channels under license as well as its own labels.
