2(x)ist is in expansion mode.
On the heels of the January announcement surrounding the introduction of the brand’s first ath-leisure activewear line, the iconic men’s lifestyle brand will launch its first outerwear collection for fall.
The outerwear — which will consist of a 25-piece collection of sweater jackets, leather bombers and packable down jackets in new technology fabrics — will be designed and distributed under license by Level 8 Apparel LLC.
Suggested retail prices will be $150 to $395. Further details were not available at press time.
Tom Speight, president and chief executive officer of H. Best Ltd., a division of The Moret Group that owns 2(x)ist, said the “quality and design of the garments presented to us made Level 8 Apparel a natural choice for this partnership.”
“Level 8 Apparel understands the 2(x)ist man is someone who is self-confident, and who embraces color and fashion in his clothing and accessory choices,” said Speight.
Outerwear will add to the brand’s existing offerings of men’s underwear, swimwear, activewear and watches, which are produced in-house, as well as men’s socks, produced under a license with High Point Sock Co.
2(x)ist and Level 8 Apparel plan to target top department and specialty men’s stores for the outerwear collection, in addition to offering the full range at 2xist.com, said Speight.
Founded in 1991, 2(x)ist is known for cutting-edge fashion, contoured shapes and use of high-tech fabrics. The brand is sold domestically and internationally at department and specialty stores across six continents, including multiple 2(x)ist-branded storefronts and shops-in-shop throughout Asia.
A first-year wholesale sales projection was not available, but sales could exceed $10 million, according to industry estimates.
