Christopher Wicks, designer and founder of English Laundry, will be honored by Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles on May 5. Wicks will receive the 2012 Otis Creative Vision award for the impact he has made in art and design. Previous recipients include Art Coppola, chief executive officer of Macerich Co., Bob Hurley, founder and chairman of Hurley International, designers Joseph Abboud and Max Azria of BCBG and Michael Gould, ceo of Bloomingdale’s. Wicks will be honored at the school’s 30th annual scholarship benefit and fashion show at the Beverly Hilton. The evening will feature over 70 professional models in more than 175 fashion and costume looks created by the school’s fashion design department. Approximately 800 guests attend the black-tie gala each year, and the goal is to raise $1 million.
