Life is Good Expanding Into Coffee

The Boston-based brand has signed a deal with the J.M. Smucker Co.

Coffee lovers will have a new way to express their enthusiasm about life.

Life is Good, the Boston-based brand which has built a multimillion dollar business on its message of optimism, has signed a deal with the J.M. Smucker Co. for a line of Life is Good coffee.

The new collection will be available in late summer at retailers throughout in North American, including the Life is Good stores, grocery chains and online. Flavors will include Light Hearted, Happy Medium, Dark & Daring, S’more to Love, and Banana Bread Bliss. All products are UTZ Certified, a program that promotes sustainable farming and better opportunities for farmers. The coffee is expected to retail for $6.99 to $7.99 a bag.

“Through our new line of coffee with Smucker’s, we’ll be able to spread the power of optimism and help kids in need,” said Bert Jacobs, chief executive optimist of Life is Good. “We are excited about our partnership with Life is Good, which will provide another premium coffee brand option for our consumers,” added Mark Smucker, president of U.S. Retail Coffee at J.M. Smucker. “Life is Good is a great fit with our family of brands and will undoubtedly resonate with our consumers as it supports our sustainability initiatives as our first line of 100 percent certified coffee.”

Life is Good partnered with Hallmark earlier this year to launch a greeting card collection.

The company was founded in 1994 by brothers Bert and John Jacobs and its apparel, pet products and recreational items are now sold in around 4,500 retail stores in the U.S. and in 30 countries. It also donates 10 percent of its net profits to the Life is Good Kids Foundation and has raised over $9.5 million to date.
