PVH Corp. has forged a licensing agreement with Five Star Blue LLC to manufacture and market men’s denim under the Izod label. The initial term of the agreement runs through 2018. This marks Izod’s first denim license.
Under the deal, Five Star Blue will produce and distribute men’s denim pants and shorts in regular and big and tall sizes to major department and specialty stores throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The first shipments will begin in July. Denim pants will retail for $59.50 to $69.50. Shorts will launch for spring 2014.
Headquartered in New York, Five Star Apparel’s licensed brands include Hudson Kids, WESC, Company 81, Wendy Bellisimo, Vigoss Girls, Akademiks, Enyce and NBA-licensed Zipway activewear.
In other news, PVH has signed a licensing agreement with Comercio Excelente Norte Sur S.A. de C.V. to market and distribute men’s and boys’ apparel and men’s accessories and related goods under the Izod name in Mexico. The initial term of the deal runs through 2017.
The agreement encompasses men’s and boys’ sportswear including shirts, trousers, shorts, fleece jackets, sweaters, jackets and activewear, and men’s outerwear, swimwear, golf wear, loungewear and sleepwear. It also includes slippers, flip flop sandals, luggage, belts, cold weather hats, scarves, gloves, sunglasses, wallets and backpacks. The Izod product is currently being sold at Sears and will expand to specialty stores throughout Mexico for fall.
“We are excited to extend the Izod brand to the Mexican marketplace,” said Ken Wyse, president of licensing for PVH Corp. “We have successfully partnered with Comercio Excelente for other PVH brands and believe this to be a great opportunity to extend our strategic partnership with them, as well as further expand the Izod reach.”
