PARIS — The Christian Lacroix fashion house — which shuttered its boutiques in France and the U.S. after shrinking to a licensing operation in 2009 — is venturing into retail again.

On June 1, the French firm plans to open what it dubs a “mix and match” boutique in a former printing shop at 24 Place Saint Sulpice on the Left Bank here. Lacroix first used the 1,450-square-foot space for a men’s wear show in 2010, and the opening coincides with Designer’s Days in Paris, a citywide celebration of industrial design.
The store is expected to showcase the range of licensed Lacroix lines — men’s wear, leather goods, scarves, eyewear, stationery and home items —along with design objects selected by Lacroix’s creative director, Sacha Walckhoff.
For the opening, the eclectic selections are to include a vase from Dutch firm New Duivendrecht, colored glassware from Portugal and chairs by the Brazilian designer Rodrigo Almeida.
The boutique is also expected to sporadically offer vintage accessories and jewelry from the Lacroix archives.
The founding couturier exited the house in the wake of the downsizing, and is devoted mainly to designing theater and opera costumes, in addition to exhibitions.
