Spread across three rooms, the 1,880-square-foot space is decorated like a surreal old house, with fanciful trompe l’oeil sketches on the walls and tall white cabinets housing assorted shoes and dresses from the fall 2012 and spring 2013 collections. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli tapped artists and designers Nikki Nye and Amy Flurry of the Paper-Cut Project to create the delicate all-white paper animals seen dangling overhead and peeking from glass cupboards, as well as the towering paper wigs resting on mannequins’ heads.
Red Valentino now has 100 stand-alone stores worldwide, in cities ranging from Tokyo to Cannes, France, and Rome.
