Designers on why they’re excited about the Suite 1521 model.

Giles Deacon: “It’s a special thing for me, getting to meet all these women and getting to build that basis and understand what they’re looking for. They’re always great characters, these women. They’re really interesting people, and it’s another interesting side to the business.”

Mary Katrantzou: “Suite 1521 is a great idea that gives us the opportunity to interact with our customers directly, as well as explore the possibility of retail without the heavy financial risk of opening our own store.”

David Koma: “When I was introduced to Suite 1521, I was drawn to the concept straight away. I feel extremely excited to be part of it for the upcoming SS14 season. I am really looking forward to our first event together, as it is always inspiring to connect with my clientele and extend my brand’s reach.”

Shaun Leane: “I like the concept of Suite 1521, as it brings the designer directly to the client. It is an opportunity for a designer like myself to be able to share my collection concepts and craft with the clients, as well as allowing me to discuss the possibilities of creating a bespoke piece of jewelry for the individual.”

Shane Gabier, Creatures of the Wind: “Chris [Peters] and I think that it’s important to be able to meet the clients directly, and in the sort of setting that Studio 1521 will provide, we think it’ll be a fantastic opportunity for us to really talk about the collection with the people who are wearing it.”

Richard Nicoll: “Through the Suite 1521 concept, Lizzie and Kim provide the opportunity for us to present the collection in all its entirety in a retail environment, allowing it to remain unconfined by a store’s edit. Combining this with the chance to have direct customer interaction is priceless.”
